BAIT BREEZE BLOCK:
GENERATIVE BLOCK-PRINTING RUBIK CUBE

The breeze block wall was the backdrop of my childhood, playing in my grandmother’s backyard. In all the old houses of Doha, you would find breeze blocks, or “naqsh” panels that act as a privacy screen, or a way to let the air vent through the space.

This block printing Rubik’s cube allows you to twist and create your own pattern for the breeze blocks. The mechanism allows for a generative process of creating new patterns out of the six base blocks, with forty-three quintillion possible combinations [43 252 003 274 489 856 000]!
