COMPUTATIONAL (SUN) CYCLES:
ISLAMIC PRAYER CLOCK

The prayer clock is based on the sun cycle of qatar; it indicates the prayer by a glow behind the prayer name during its time. It explores the overlap between the spiritual aspect of prayer time, with the scientific and astronomical methods used to calculate and determine the prayer starting times. It combined visuals from the astrolabe + the code was based on the islamic tradition of observing the sun’s position to determine the start of the prayer time, which got translated into the scientific method of calculations that are used today.
